Move your free theme to premium, with everything you set up.

Premium is the same theme with more in it, so everything you built on the free version fits: colours, fonts, every page you arranged, the sections and blocks on them, and the words you changed. Give this page the two files and it hands back your premium theme, already set up the way you left it.

Two files in, one theme out

1. Your free theme, from Shopify

In Shopify admin, go to Online Store › Themes. On your free theme, open the … menu and choose Download theme file. Shopify emails you a link to a zip.

2. Premium, from your purchase

The premium zip from your order email, the same theme: Elarune with Elarune, Valmont with Valmont, Metrum with Metrum.

Both files are read by this page in your browser. Nothing is sent to Mufatech or anywhere else.

What carries over

  • Theme settings: colours and colour schemes, fonts, layout, cards, buttons, social links, and every other choice under Theme settings.
  • Every page you arranged: the home page, product and collection templates, extra page templates, with their sections, blocks, images, text and links.
  • Header and footer: menus, logo, announcement and everything in those groups.
  • Words you changed under Edit default theme content, in every language.
  • Files you added to the theme's assets.

What does not

Changes made to the theme's code, its Liquid, CSS or JavaScript files. The page compares each file with the original free release and lists any you changed, so you know exactly what to redo. Premium's newer code replaces them, which is also how you receive its fixes.

Premium sections are yours to add

Your pages come across exactly as they were, so the premium sections are not placed for you. Open the theme editor, choose Add section, and they are there with the rest.
